When I was young, there was a huge lilac bush outside our bedroom window. I was born in Michigan. Every time I smell that fragrance it takes me right back to that bedroom. Just thinking about it, I can imagine that beautiful bush. I see several people have the same type of memory for lilacs.
Scrambled eggs. My mom would only cook fried eggs, and I hated them. When I was five, she told me if I want scrambled eggs, I'd have to cook them. She taught me, and I've been cooking them ever since, like 65 years.
Olive Loaf, I loved it. Another deli meat you don't see often is Old Fashion Loaf. I hadn't seen it in years, but last week I was at Von's deli, and there peeking around the bologna, was old fashion loaf. I bought a pound and it's gone!
