I've always been a night owl. My mom would hear me late at night talking/singing to myself in my crib as a toddler.

I have always been an early bird-as a teen I could not understand how my siblings could sleep until 10 or 11 or even 12 noon on the weekends!

I am a night owl. I am now retired so I can sleep in. I worked night shift often and loved it. Also, I love late night talk shows.

Kind of both. During my 20 year military career I was an early bird. Did NOT go for the worms though lol
After retirement I sleep in till 10am whenever possible. I don’t need to wake up at o’dark 30 ever again lol

Always been a night owl. I worked 11 pm to 7 am in an ICU for years. Finally retired at age 70. Didn't want to retire then but my husband wanted to do some traveling. He has several medical issues and I knew it wasn't fair to put off retiring in casel he got too sick to travel. I retired and trust me it took 4-5 years to change from being a night owl. I found out if I was up too late my body said "oh we must be working tonight" and so getting enough sleep was almost impossible. I also gave up coffee after my morining cup.
Doing alittle better now but staying up nights and sleeping days has always had a special feel to it!

Have always been an early bird
Thanks for sharing @Valpal ! There’s something so peaceful about the early hours, isn’t there? 🌅 Have you always enjoyed the quiet of the mornings, or did something in life steer you into being an early bird? Has the change in seasons affected your routine at all?

Always early bird - up at 3 A.M. PST
Thanks for sharing @boong ! Up at 3 A.M.—now that’s dedication! 🌄 What’s the first thing you usually do at that hour? Have you always been an early riser, or did something in life get you into the habit?

Mostly night owl...though up around 9am
Interesting! So you're more of a night owl, even with a 9am wake-up time — sounds like you enjoy your evenings. Have you always been that way, or did your routine shift over time? I appreciate you jumping in and sharing your rhythm with us @hra246 ! 🌙

I have to get up at 3 a.m. to go to work. I would rather be able to stay up late and get up at 7 or 8 a.m.
Oof, 3 a.m. is an early start—especially if you're naturally more of a night owl! 😅 Do you find it gets any easier over time, or is it still a struggle to adjust? Thanks for opening up about your routine @jbmitch1963 —it’s not easy balancing what you have to do with what feels natural!

Sometimes an early bird, like this morning, I've been up since around 4:30. Then sometimes a night owl, especially if I'm reading a really good book.
Sounds like you’ve got the best of both worlds @Larpeg ! 😊 Do you find one suits you better depending on the season or what’s going on in life? And I’m curious—what kind of books keep you turning pages into the night? Thanks for sharing your flexible rhythm with us!

I used to be a night owl, but in the past 6 months, I have become an early riser. Used to go to bed around 2:00 am, but now I am in bed at 9:30 or 10:00, and I read until 10:30 or 11:00 and get up at sunrise, around 7:30 am. Like it much better!!
What a change—and it sounds like it’s working really well for you! 😊 Isn’t it interesting how our routines can evolve over time? Do you think anything in particular prompted the switch, or did it just start happening naturally? Thanks for taking us along on your rhythm reset @GaryBlake !
