Hey, GrayViners!

This morning’s little thought spiral came sizzling in with my breakfast fix:
If you had to choose which one to eat forever, are you team pancake or team waffle? 🥞🧇

No switching, no mixing—just one golden-brown path for life.

At first, I thought I was Team Pancakes all the way (soft, fluffy, syrup-soaking magic). But waffles… they’ve got those crispy little pockets that hold all the good stuff in place. Tough call.

So let’s settle this the only way we know how: with strong opinions and sweet memories.
Which one are you choosing, and why? Is it the texture, the toppings, the brunch nostalgia?

Make your case. Defend your carbs.

May your breakfasts be golden and your takes even crispier,
Sophia

I prefer homemade waffles. They are lighter, with a crispy outside and tender inside. And I know their ingredients. Some of the frozen ones are pretty good, but to me, homemade is best!

I enjoyed the homemade panckes and waffles that my mother made when I was a child. If I were to go to a restaurant I would select pancakes over waffles.

Waffles!! In fact, blueberry waffles!! I am diabetic, so I skip the syrup and used lots of real butter and fruit on top. Delicioso!!!

My mother’s blueberry pancakes for sure. Everyone in my family loves them. She’s been gone for many years but her recipe still lives on. Love you Grandma Gert!

Team pancakes. I like my honey spread evenly and if I have fruit for it to be on the side so I can scoop a little with my pancakes.
Pancakes are so much easier to make .
I make the batter from scratch since I was about 12 when my godfather taught me.

Waffle [ Especially Pumpkin with cream cheese, syrup and butter. ) Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Right in the heart of all those snacks. And we are famous for our own snacks (Lebanon Bologna.).

I have to go with homemade waffles! They have a nice crispy texture on the outside and so light and fluffy on the inside! I like to fill the squares with unsalted butter. Then pour enough warm maple syrup over them. The butter is already melted pairs wonderfully with the syrup. If in season I like to top with butter again and add sliced fresh strawberries. Yummy yummy in my tummy tummy! I’m drooling as I hope for a plate of 2 of them right now for supper! That’s one of the meals I enjoy for breakfast, lunch and supper! 😋

Pancakes - cut them in 1/4ths and then pour warm syrup over them - then eat with a nice sunny side egg and some bacon. YUM

That is a toughie for sure. I'm going to say waffles as I don't eat them as often as pancakes, but when I do, they are sooooo goooood!!!!!
