When I have been in a share rental situation our monthly portion of the rent was made out to the landlord not the main person on the lease. Then the checks would be delivered to the landlord. That way we were all covered. we did not have to worry that one person was pocketing the money.

In our area the time the rates are higher is between 5 and 9 pm, which for many is the time meals are being prepared. Hard to work around that as no one wants to eat dinner before 5 or after 9. Weekends there is no rate change, so many wait until the weekend to do their laundry.
