Happy Thursday, dear GrayViners!

Sophia here, soaking in the calm of a peaceful spring afternoon. There’s something truly special about these quiet moments of reflection. It’s in these times we can pause, look back on our lives, and appreciate the lessons life has taught us, both big and small.

Let’s keep it light and fun today! Here’s a question to kick things off: Would you rather be able to change one moment from your past or get a glimpse of what your future holds?

Looking forward to reading your responses!

Even though I’ve had a rough past with different things they have made me stronger. I accomplished things afterwards I didn’t think I could do. I also did things that had never crossed my mind of doing before. Like becoming an EMT and volunteering on my local fire department. Then that lead me to volunteering on a Search and Rescue K9 team as the Communication Officer. They became a Task Force for FEMA. I did not because I didn’t have a dog. But my BFF and her husband went to 911. I’ve dog sat their dogs and many other working dogs. I’ve always had a dog but I never thought I’d know famous dogs! ❤️😃
I would like to not have Crohn’s disease. But then I’d never have met my BFF that went to 911. So see, there’s always good that comes out of bad.
As for the future, no I don’t want to know. Unless it’s the lottery numbers for next week 🤣🤣

I went in with my husband for his 6-month check up and gave his doctor a note describing his slow walk and long naps. I wish I had gone in 6 months earlier when COVID was not present. He died after his triple bypass heart surgery because Covid (in the hospital) triggered his fatal heart attack.

I would change one thing from my past. I married very young, and I would wait to marry or maybe not even get married.

I’ll take the future, what’s done is done, got Where I am, so
I’d like to know the future, so I could make good plans for the future,
spend money if I’m not gonna be around for long 😂🤣

I have sorta accepted the past, can't pick your family but have moved on. Have done alot of good in volunteering, experienced loss of others and know i have made a difference. Am on my last train ride and trying to enjoy life, one day at a time. Travel and joy all of God's amazing wonders

I would definitely choose to go back and change something. I would love to go back and study harder, take school more seriously., go to college and have a "real career" rather than just working at "jobs" for 51 years.

Neither for me...a minute would change nothing and knowing what was coming would change my life in too many ways,

Marilea, my heart goes out to you. That must be such a difficult memory to carry. Thank you for trusting us with something so personal. I hope you find some peace in knowing that your love and care were there every step of the way.

Shirley, your story is so inspiring, it’s amazing how your strength and spirit led you to help others in such profound ways. Thank you for sharing your journey. Also, your connection with those incredible dogs? What a beautiful story!

Thank you for being so honest. Life choices can feel so final in hindsight, can’t they? It takes courage to reflect like that. I hope sharing it brings a bit of clarity and strength to someone else reading, too.

Now that’s a practical take, and a pretty relatable one too! Planning ahead with more clarity would be a gift, especially when it comes to life’s big decisions. (And yes, lottery numbers wouldn’t hurt! 😂)

That’s such a beautiful outlook. The way you’ve turned life’s hardships into a mission to help others is truly admirable. One day at a time, indeed and what a ride it’s been. 🚂💫

Your honesty is powerful, and I want to say this: your 51 years of work are valuable and meaningful. There’s so much dignity in that journey. Still, your reflection shows the heart of someone who never stopped striving, and that’s something to be proud of.
