This photo looks like a painting! Did you take this while on a leisurely walk, @rockerruth? We'd love to hear more if you have a story to share! Also, would you mind if we feature this in the newsletter?
 
This photo was taken at the Department of Natural Resources ponds that are located along the Des Moines River in Humboldt, IA. I was fortunate to live just a few blocks away for several years. I spent many hours there in the spring watching the geese come off the river to nest and hatch their offspring. For a few weeks, the geese almost take over the town. They walk with their goslings to other parks in town, often crossing streets and the main highway. The locals are careful not to hit them during these weeks. Though I have moved away, I still treasure the memories and the photos that I took there. Nature has such a calming, healing affect for me.

What a beautiful memory—thank you for sharing, @rockerruth ! I can just picture those proud goose parents parading their little ones through town like they own the place. I appreciate how you laid out the perfect imagery! Also, thank you for letting us feature this in the newsletter!
