Sunday Classics 04.13.2025
Hey GrayViners!
It was a tough competition, but this week’s Sunday Classic hit all the right notes… Our Sunday Classics winner: “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers!
What a pick—smooth, soulful, and still gives folks goosebumps after all these years. "Unchained Melody" took the crown this week, and honestly, we’re not surprised. That opening note alone could stop traffic.

Here’s a little backstory on this timeless ballad: It was originally written in 1955 for a prison movie called Unchained (hence the name), and while many artists recorded it over the years, it was The Righteous Brothers’ 1965 version that truly stuck. Fun fact—only Bobby Hatfield sang on that track, but both brothers got the credit. Then, in 1990, the song got a second life thanks to Ghost and that iconic pottery scene. Suddenly, a whole new generation was swaying along to those haunting high notes.
Now it’s your turn—what classic do you think deserves the spotlight next Sunday? Drop your pick in the comments below!
And don’t forget to react to the suggestions you love. The one with the most reactions wins the feature. So, let the nostalgia battle begin!
Cheers!
