General Discussion Thread 05.20.2025

Hello, hello and welcome to a terrific Tuesday here at The GrayVine! Ally here, back again to bring you a daily dose of your favorite newsletter. I am going on a trip this week. I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve had time to myself, and so I’m really looking forward to just relaxing on the beach and feeling the sun on my skin. I’ll take photos and share them with you once I get back! But now I’m curious: If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where (and when) would it be and why? I’ll eagerly wait for your replies! 💜

Or, if you have something else you'd like to share—whether it’s a cool fact you just learned, a funny story, or something that’s been bothering you—feel free to comment them down, too! This General Discussion Thread is created just for you, so feel free to engage with your fellow members!

Now, what's on YOUR mind today?

I would be back home in St. Louis. Even with the recent turbulent weather. Due to my disability I am unable to travel. It means I will probably not see my remaining family and friends before I die. Thank God for the internet. We cannot least stay in touch. 🙏🏾

I too am disabled and wish I could go back to Phoenix (Sun City) to see my folks before they pass. I don't think it will happen. I just hate it when the only time you really see all of your family is at a funeral.

During my lifetime, I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world (business and pleasure) - but if I had a magic wand, today I’d transport myself to MY ‘happiest place on earth’, Yosemite. Originally named “Ahwahnee” by the indigenous Miwok peoples, it meant “peaceful valley”.

I would want to go to Germany to visit with cousins. Unfortunately since I take care of my elderly mom who is blind and disabled I currently cannot travel there. My mom has been there several times but I never had the time when she went.

Destin Florida on the beach!! I ❤️the beach, and Destin is just a car ride away. No planes, trains ! Just a leisurely, “stop when you want to ride to “ the Gulf.

We spent a month in Hawaii 7 years ago. We had a wonderful time. I would like to go again.

Thank you so much for sharing something so personal @Hello Kitty . It’s completely understandable that your heart longs for home and the people you love. We’re so sorry to hear about the challenges you’re facing — your strength and gratitude in the face of it all is truly moving. We’re grateful for the internet too, for helping keep those connections alive across the miles. Sending you warmth and a virtual hug from all of us. 🙏🏾💙
