A Midwife's Last Wish

Elsa, a beloved 97-year-old retired midwife, finally made her way to the Pearly Gates after a long and fulfilling life.

St. Peter welcomed her with a smile and said, “Elsa, you’ve done so much good. Is there anything you'd like before entering heaven?”

She thought for a moment and said, “Well, just once, I’d love to go back and see a birth where the father has to feel what it’s like!”

St. Peter chuckled and said, “Fair enough,” and with a wave, sent her back down to Earth for a quick visit.

Elsa suddenly found herself in a cozy living room, where a woman was in labor. Strangely, the husband was calm and comfortable, sipping tea like nothing was happening.

She turned to him and asked, “How are you feeling?”

He smiled, puffing his pipe by the window. “Oh, I’m fine. No pain at all,” he said. “But… I think something’s gone wrong.”

“Why’s that?” Elsa asked.

“Well,” he said, nodding outside, “our neighbor Frank is out on the lawn screaming in agony!” 👀
