"Just one more thing..."

He never looked the part—shabby coat, scuffed shoes, and a cigar always in hand. But behind that messy exterior was a mind like a steel trap. This unassuming detective graced millions of American TVs in the 1970s, solving crimes not with force, but with polite persistence.

That’s Lieutenant Columbo, the star of Columbo, played by Peter Falk. The show flipped the script on the usual mystery format: viewers saw the culprit from the start, and the thrill was in watching Columbo slowly unravel their story. Always courteous, always underestimated, he’d pause at the door and say, “Just one more thing…”—and that’s when you knew the trap was set.

COLUMBO. We loved this series We also watched the Rockford Files. There were others that I can’t recall.
One thing we liked about Colombo was the resemblance to Peter Sellears in the Pink Panther movies.
