Hey GrayViners!

Blue here, settling in with my morning coffee and a little bit of movie nostalgia. Last night I watched a film at home and it got me thinking—it’s been ages since I’ve watched one in a real movie theater. I miss the big screen glow, the smell of buttery popcorn, and that hush that falls right before the previews start. There’s just something about sitting in those seats that makes a story feel bigger and more magical.

So I’d love to hear from you: When was the last time you went to a real movie theater and what did you see?

Maybe it was a classic with the grandkids, a favorite you just couldn’t miss, or even a spur-of-the-moment night out.

Share your story below—let’s trade some movie memories and maybe give each other a few ideas for our next night at the cinema!

Cheers!
Blue 💙

I have been to the movies 4 times in the past two weeks. Three times to watch Hamilton on the big screen and once to watch the new Downton Abbey movie!

The last movie I saw was A Star is Born with Lady Gaga. I went with my Meetup ladies group. I don't like going to the theater because I feel overwhelmed with the sights and sounds. Have to have a glass of wine when I go.

I haven't gone in years. Last I took my Granddaughters to see a Disney movie. I can make popcorn at home and watch movies.

Somewhere around 1980 or 1981, the little woman and I had a movie night. I do not remember the name of the movie, but that was fine; I had the love of my life with me.

This probably sounds silly, but the last time we went to the cinema was the movie M * A * S * H. The theater on our Air Force base was really cheap in 1971 when we were dating. The movie choices weren’t the greatest but we could stay on base and date cheaply. Getting a good movie on base was like having to wait until it’s released to streaming. Sad but true nonetheless. 😅

I do not remember what movie but last time at a theater was 10 years ago.
Thanks for sharing @Hazeleyes ! Ten years is quite a while — I bet movies feel really different now compared to back then. Do you think you’d like to go back to a cinema one day, or are you happier watching movies at home these days?

It was several years ago. I saw Jersey Boys.
Thanks for sharing @Czech7985 ! Jersey Boys is such a great choice — the music must have been amazing on the big screen. Do you remember if you saw it as part of a special outing, or was it just a casual trip to the movies?

2004...I went with my son and a friend of his to see "The Passion Of The Christ."
Thanks for sharing @GaryBlake ! That must have been quite an experience — The Passion of the Christ is such a powerful and emotional film. Do you and your son still enjoy watching movies together these days, even if it’s at home?
