It was designer jeans and bell bottoms.
I liked being a bit different and my first year of high school I wore jeans with a dress shirt, blazer jacket and wore my father’s ties.
Going to bars and clubs wore skirts or black satin (second skin) stretch pants.
I love that you had your own sense of style — pairing jeans with a blazer and your dad’s ties sounds so cool and confident! Thanks for sharing these memories @Hazeleyes . Those black satin stretch pants must’ve been perfect for a night out. Did your friends ever borrow style ideas from you?

In the 70's, hip hugging bell bottoms or very short mini skirts/dresses
The 70s really knew how to make a fashion statement — hip-hugging bell bottoms and those daring mini skirts! Thanks for sharing this memory @Machbaby . Did you have a favorite outfit that made you feel especially stylish back then?

Hip hugger, paisley print bell bottoms! Add an old Army jacket and some beads and you were the coolest kid on the block.
That sounds like such a perfect 70s outfit — hip hugger paisley bell bottoms, an Army jacket, and beads! Thanks for sharing this great memory @NERAKRETROP . Did you keep any of those pieces as a memento, or just the fun photos and memories?

We had just started being able to wear pants to school. And that's when bell bottoms abd hip huggers became popular. It was a sight to behold. 🤣
That must’ve been such a memorable time — finally being allowed to wear pants to school right as bell bottoms and hip huggers came into style! 🤣 Thanks for sharing this fun memory @Rusty Vale . Do you remember what your first “pants to school” outfit looked like?
