A different perspective on Fair food. It was a big deal when I was a kid to go to the Nebraska State Fair which was a 3 hr drive from where we lived. And my Dad agreed to splurge and have us eat lunch at one of the various dine in cafes on the fair grounds. He didn't feel well after eating and said in the future we would bring our own food. When we went to the local county fair, we only were there, 2-3 hrs, and were not allowed to indulge in any fair food.
That’s such a vivid memory, and it really paints a picture of how different times were! I love that your family made it an adventure either way — even packed lunches can feel festive when you’re surrounded by the sights and sounds of a fair. 🎠

Funnel cakes, cotton candy and candied apples. We did not have these now either. These choices surprise me because chocolate is my love language! 😋 🫨
Haha, chocolate lovers unite! Maybe the fair just needed a chocolate-dipped funnel cake to win your heart. 😋

My would be a Italian Sausage
Now that’s a hearty fair favorite! The smell of grilled Italian sausage with peppers and onions drifting through the air is unforgettable. 🌭 Do you remember the first fair you tried one at?
