According to the Hollywood Reporter, Harjes died last Tuesday (May 27) at Mount Sinai West hospital in New York City following an illness, after being diagnosed with cancer in February.

Outside of acting, he was a dedicated student of martial arts and a regular at the gym—often joking that it was safer than getting kicked in the face by a horse, a nod to his Texas roots and sense of humor.

He is survived by his parents, Randy and Rosanne Harjes, his sister Trish, two nieces, his former wife Shiva Shobitha, and a close-knit circle of family and friends. Their loss is shared by the many fans who followed his career and were touched by his performances.
