7-Eleven’s new Slurpee Day twist means double the free treats

July brings more than barbecues and fireworks—it’s also when 7-Eleven hosts its popular Slurpee Day, a tradition that has become a summer favorite.

This year, the convenience store giant is giving customers not just one, but two chances to enjoy their frozen treat for free.

To celebrate its 98th birthday, 7-Eleven is expanding the offer to include a second free Slurpee for loyalty members who scan their app on July 11.

If you've ever lined up for a Slurpee in the heat, this upgraded promo offers twice the reward with the same refreshing payoff.

Each year on July 11—known as 7/11—customers can walk into any participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, or Stripes location and receive a free small Slurpee in the flavor of their choice.

This promotion has become a cornerstone of summer, drawing in fans who know exactly which flavor they'll pick or plan to mix them all.

New for 2025, 7-Eleven will issue a second Slurpee coupon to customers who scan their Rewards app during their initial visit.

That second freebie can be redeemed anytime through July 31, giving fans a chance to cool down again later in the month.

Available Slurpee flavors this year include returning classics and new limited-edition blends.

Staples like Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew, and Vernors Ginger Ale will be available alongside popular fruit flavors such as Cherry, Blue Raspberry, and Pina Colada.

Among the seasonal specials is the Peace Tea Caddy Shack Slurpee, described as a mix of tea and lemonade that debuted in May.

Another headliner is the pineapple and berry-flavored Mtn Dew Infinite Swirl, a tropical option for those looking to try something new.

To mark its 98th anniversary, 7-Eleven is also introducing a playful addition: Slurpee “Tongue-toos,” a new kind of temporary tattoo.

When applied to the tongue and activated by drinking a Slurpee, the tattoo reveals an “S” symbol for a small burst of visual fun.

According to the company, “Sippers just need to apply the temporary tattoo and then drink their Slurpee for the ‘S’ symbol to appear.”

It’s a nostalgic nod to childhood summers and adds a bit of novelty to this year’s celebration.

The Slurpee Day celebration isn’t the only way to beat the summer heat with frozen drinks in July.

Starbucks is also launching a limited-time beverage called the Firework Frappuccino, available from July 1 through July 7.

The company says it combines “the raspberry, blueberry and blackberry flavors of the Summer-Berry Refresher, plus coconut milk, popping pearls, strawberry purée and vanilla sweet cream cold foam.”

Designed to complement Fourth of July festivities, the drink offers a creamy, colorful alternative to your usual iced coffee.
