The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued an alert for approximately 12,300 espresso machines that have been sold across the United States.
The models in question are the Bella Pro Series Steam Espresso Maker (model number 90195) and the Cooks Steam Espresso Maker (model number 22395).
These machines were available for purchase at JCPenney stores nationwide, as well as online through BestBuy.com and JCPenney.com, from August 2023 through January 2025.
The reason for the recall is a significant one: the handle on these machines can unexpectedly eject, posing a risk of burns or lacerations to users.
To date, there have been 18 reports of such incidents, with eight of those resulting in injuries.

If you own an espresso machine, check it for the model number, which is usually printed on a label on the bottom or back of the appliance.
