A Smart Parrot
David and Bernice, a retired couple from Boca Raton, were finally enjoying their dream trip to Israel.
One sunny afternoon, they were out for a leisurely walk after visiting the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit when Bernice spotted something unusual in a little shop window: a beautiful parrot perched proudly in a golden cage.
Curious, they stepped inside. The parrot had a red ribbon tied to its left leg and a green ribbon tied to its right.
David, always the inquisitive type, turned to the shopkeeper and asked, “What’s with the ribbons?”
The shopkeeper smiled. “Ah, you’ve just met our most brilliant resident! This parrot is multilingual. If you pull the red ribbon, he speaks fluent Hebrew. Pull the green ribbon, and he’ll respond in perfect English.”
David raised an eyebrow. “That’s impressive. But what happens if I pull both ribbons at the same time?”
Without missing a beat, the parrot squawked, “I fall off my perch, genius!”
