A Sweet Grandmother
A sweet grandmother called St. Joseph’s Hospital and asked, “Is there someone I can speak to about how a patient is doing?” The operator replied, “Of course, dear. What’s the name and room number of the patient?”
In a soft, shaky voice, the grandmother said, “Norma Findlay, Room 302.” The operator responded, “Let me check with the nurse’s station and I’ll be right back.”
A few minutes later, the operator returned and shared the good news: “Norma is doing great! Her blood pressure is stable, her blood work is normal, and Dr. Cohen has scheduled her for discharge tomorrow.”
The grandmother sighed with relief, “Oh, thank you. That’s such a relief. God bless you for the good news.”
The operator smiled and asked, “Is Norma your daughter?”
The grandmother replied, “No, I’m Norma Findlay in Room 302. No one tells me anything!”
