After 7 years off the menu, a comfort favorite quietly returns to a familiar roadside stop

There’s something about summer that makes us crave a little nostalgia.

Whether it’s the smell of something sizzling or the crackle of foil over heat, some meals just take us back.

Now, a beloved seasonal tradition at a popular restaurant is making its return.

After a seven-year pause, the fan-favorite foil-wrapped meals are back.

Cracker Barrel confirmed the return earlier this week.

The meals, which are only available for a limited time, feature the brand’s signature Campfire Seasoning and nostalgic prep style—wrapped in tin foil or cooked in skillets.

Each dish is meant to deliver that smoky, slow-cooked flavor you’d expect around a real campfire.

Two new items have been added to the collection, alongside classic favorites.

The Campfire Shrimp Skillet includes grilled shrimp and andouille sausage in a buttery broth, cooked with campfire-seasoned corn and potatoes.

It’s served hot in a cast-iron skillet.

Also new is the S’mores Brownie Skillet—a warm chocolate brownie topped with a roasted marshmallow, Hershey’s chocolate bar, graham crackers, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Returning options include the Campfire Chicken, a marinated half-chicken slow-cooked with corn on the cob, red skin potatoes, carrots, grape tomatoes, and onions in a buttery broth.

Guests can choose Buttermilk Biscuits or Cornbread Muffins on the side.

The Campfire Beef brings back the low-braised, foil-wrapped beef with the same medley of vegetables and spices, also paired with biscuits or muffins.

For dessert lovers, the Cinnamon Roll Skillet is back as well, featuring mini cinnamon rolls with gooey cinnamon filling and cream cheese icing.

Cracker Barrel’s Chief Marketing Officer said the decision came from years of customer feedback.

“Our guests have been asking for us to bring back our Campfire Meals for years—and we heard them loud and clear,” Sarah Moore said.

She added, “Starting at just $10.99, our Campfire Meals are so packed with flavor, they will immediately spark feelings of long summer days, endless possibilities and that unmistakable joy we feel when anything is possible.”

Cracker Barrel is also stocking its Country Store with campfire-themed items, including s’mores-flavored candies and jars of their Campfire Seasoning.

Everything is designed to give customers a chance to bring the experience home.
