An Astonishing Inheritance
An elderly man lay on his deathbed, surrounded by his wife, three children, and a nurse. With a weak smile, he whispered:
“Bill, you take the houses in Beverly Hills. Mary, the offices downtown are yours. Debra, you get all the apartments over the L.A. Plaza. And my dear wife, you’ll have all the residential buildings near Main Street.”
The nurse, astonished, said, “Wow, your husband must’ve built quite a real estate empire!”
The wife shook her head and sighed: “Empire? He’s talking about his paper route!”
