This light, fruity dessert layers flavor and nostalgia in every bite—perfect for any summer gathering.
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 5 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced, plus a few whole, for garnish
- One 6-ounce container of blueberries
- One 6-ounce container of raspberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Juice 1/2 orange
- 4 cups low-fat 2-percent Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup honey
- One 17-ounce store-bought angel food cake
- Macerate the Berries: In a bowl, combine the berries with sugar and orange juice. Let them sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes to release their natural juices.
- Prepare the Yogurt Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix yogurt and honey until smooth and spreadable.
- Assemble the Trifle: Slice the angel food cake into large chunks using a serrated knife. Layer one-third of the cake at the bottom of a medium trifle dish. Top with a portion of the syrupy berries, followed by a layer of the yogurt mixture (reserving a few spoonfuls for garnish). Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
- Chill & Serve: Finish with the reserved yogurt in the center and fresh whole strawberries. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight) before serving.
