Attention shoppers: This popular grocery item has been pulled from shelves—here’s why

You wake up, ready to start your day, and grab a quick breakfast—something familiar, something you’ve had plenty of times before. But what if hidden in that simple meal, there was something that could put your health at risk?

With grocery store shelves being cleared and warnings being sent out, officials are urging people to check their recent purchases immediately.

Could this recall affect you or someone in your household? Here’s everything you need to stay informed!

Naturipe Value Added Fresh has voluntarily recalled its Berry Buddies, Berries & Pancakes snack packs due to undeclared allergens.

The affected products contain wheat and eggs, which were not listed on the packaging.

This labeling mistake could lead to severe or even life-threatening allergic reactions for those with celiac disease or food allergies.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall applies to 694 cases of the product, which were distributed to Kroger and Meijer grocery stores in 13 states.

Consumers in Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, Minnesota, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Mississippi, West Virginia, and Wisconsin should check their recent purchases.

The recalled snack packs are marked with lot #1097901 and have an expiration date of February 25, 2025.

Typically found in the refrigerated, produce, or deli sections of grocery stores, these products may still be in circulation despite the recall announcement.

An investigation revealed that the issue was caused by a "label changeover failure," meaning the incorrect label was applied during production. As a result, essential allergen information was missing from the packaging.

The company has since corrected the mistake and taken steps to prevent future labeling errors. While no reported illnesses or adverse reactions have been linked to this recall, the FDA urges consumers to take this alert seriously.

If you or someone in your household has a wheat or egg allergy, do not consume this product. The FDA advises disposing of it immediately or returning it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
