Sometimes you just need to treat yourself—and this dessert proves you can do it without fuss or guilt. Creamy, coffee-kissed layers of pudding, pound cake, and whipped topping make this trifle look like something from a bakery window… yet it’s simple enough to whip up in minutes and light enough to enjoy every once in a while.
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 2½ cups cold milk
- ⅓ cup instant coffee granules
- 2 packages (3.4 ounces each) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 carton (16 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
- 2 loaves (10¾ ounces each) frozen pound cake, thawed and cubed
- 1 ounce semisweet chocolate, grated
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- In a large bowl, stir the milk and coffee granules until dissolved; remove 1 cup and set aside.
- Add the pudding mix to the remaining milk mixture and beat on low speed for 2 minutes, until thickened. Fold in half of the whipped topping.
- In a large trifle or glass serving bowl, layer one-third of the cake cubes, one-third of the reserved milk mixture, one-third of the pudding mixture, and a sprinkle of grated chocolate.
- Repeat the layers twice more.
- Top with the remaining whipped topping and chocolate, then dust lightly with cinnamon.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
