Claim up to $173K! Health-conscious diners may be eligible for payout

You could be entitled to a huge payout from a recent class-action settlement. Act fast—your chance to claim up to $173,330 won’t last long!

In 2022, a popular meal from Daily Harvest, the French Lentil and Leek Crumbles, became the center of a food poisoning controversy.

Allegations surfaced that the meal was contaminated with a gluten-free flour made from tara tree seeds, which posed a risk of salmonella poisoning.

The meal delivery service company issued a recall, but the damage was done.

The lawsuit claims that Daily Harvest did not conduct proper testing on the tara flour for contamination before it made its way into consumers' homes.

As a result, customers were reportedly exposed to salmonella bacteria, leading to serious illness for some.

Salmonella is a notorious culprit behind foodborne illnesses, hospitalizations, and even deaths in the United States and globally.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) highlight the severity of this bacteria, which can cause symptoms ranging from stomach cramps and diarrhea to vomiting, nausea, and fever.

In more severe cases, the infection can spread beyond the gut, leading to life-threatening complications.

Daily Harvest has agreed to a $7.67 million settlement to address these claims, though the company has not admitted any wrongdoing.

This follows a previous $22.99 million settlement for similar allegations.

If you purchased, received, or consumed the French Lentil and Leek Crumbles in 2022 and suffered personal injuries or financial losses as a result, you may be eligible for compensation.

Here's how the payout categories are structured:

Category 1AFor those who incurred financial losses due to someone else's injuries, payments could reach up to $665.
Category 1BIf you suffered personal injuries without seeking medical treatment, you could receive up to $1,335.
Category 2Those who sought medical treatment but were not hospitalized might be eligible for up to $20,000.
Category 3If your injuries led to hospitalization, you could claim up to $40,000.
Category 4For the most severe cases, such as undergoing a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) due to consuming the crumbles, the payout could be as high as $173,330.

The final amounts will be determined after all claims are filed.

To make a claim, you'll need to provide evidence of your injury or financial loss, such as receipts, medical records, or bills.

But don't delay—the deadline to file a claim is January 21.

You can submit your claim through the designated website.

If you chose not to exclude yourself from the settlement by the December 11 deadline, you must file a claim to receive any compensation.

A final approval hearing is set for March 3, so make sure your voice is heard and your losses are accounted for.
