Ingredients:
12 large egg whites (about 1 1/2 cups)
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sifted flour

Directions:
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Add the cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the sugar while beating, ensuring the mixture becomes glossy and forms stiff peaks.
  4. Gently fold in the vanilla extract, salt, and sifted flour until just combined—be careful not to deflate the batter.
  5. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 10-inch angel food cake pan. Smooth the top and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and springs back when lightly touched.
  6. Cool upside down in the pan before removing and serving.
