Clock’s ticking: Americans have just weeks left to claim cash from $1.95M insurance settlement

If you’ve ever signed up for auto insurance and barely glanced at the fine print, you’re not alone.

But a recent class-action case involving a major insurance company could put money back in your pocket—with no paperwork needed.

Now, time is running out for eligible Americans to file a claim and get their share of a multimillion-dollar payout.

You don’t need a lawyer or a receipt—just one qualifying detail.

Farmers Insurance has agreed to pay out $1.95 million to resolve claims that it violated Minnesota law by limiting where policyholders could use their benefits.

The case alleges the company made undisclosed agreements with healthcare providers, restricting customer access under auto policies.

Farmers has not admitted wrongdoing but has chosen to settle financially with impacted customers.

The settlement applies to anyone who purchased or renewed a Farmers auto insurance policy in Minnesota between January 17, 2013, and September 13, 2023, if that policy included medical expense benefits under the state’s No-Fault Act.

If you meet that one condition, you’re in the class—and eligible to file a claim.

No documentation is required to get paid.

The total payout will be split among approved claims, and the amount each person receives depends on how much they paid in coverage premiums.

All claims must be submitted by June 20, 2025, which is the official deadline to take part.

The final approval hearing for the case is scheduled for August 19.

Class-action cases like this one are designed to provide compensation to groups of people affected by a company’s practices.

Often, consumers agree to a payout in exchange for waiving further legal claims against the company.

In this case, Farmers opted for settlement rather than continue with extended litigation.
