Cookie Time

It's 1974, and Girl Scout cookie season is in full swing! These girls from Essex County all smile as they kick off the annual sale, surrounded by those iconic cookie boxes. More than just a fundraiser, this tradition taught young girls leadership, teamwork, and a knack for business—all while bringing communities together, one delicious bite at a time. Who remembers the excitement of cookie time back in the day? Share your stories below or post your vintage finds in the forum!

I started selling those delicious cookies in Junior High. That would be in the 60’s and 2 more years in High School in 70&71. Those were the times when we went door to door trying to sell them. We didn’t have a parent take any orders from work. It was a matter of pride to have sold them ourselves. We felt pretty good about our results. As someone else mentioned, they were sold for a more reasonable amount of money! Now it also seems like the packaging takes up more space in the boxes. Maybe it’s just me…
