Total Time: 40 mins
Servings: 6–8

Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 4 Golden Delicious apples, sliced (add more if needed)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1½ tablespoons cornstarch

Directions:
  1. In a deep skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, and sugar. Stir until the apples are well coated.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and cook until the apples are very tender, about 20 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the cold water and cornstarch until smooth.
  5. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the apples and return to a simmer. Cook for another 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and serve warm — delicious on their own or alongside breakfast favorites.
