A message straight from Dolly

Dolly took to Instagram to announce the postponement herself, saying she wanted her fans to hear it directly from her.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she wrote.

She explained that her doctors have advised her to undergo several medical procedures and emphasized that she needed to listen to them.

True to form, Dolly added a lighthearted touch, joking that it was time for her “100,000-mile check-up” and clarifying that it wasn’t her “usual trip to see [her] plastic surgeon.”

She reassured fans she is not retiring, adding, “God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

What’s next for the Vegas residency

The residency isn’t canceled, just rescheduled. New dates are set for September 17 through September 26, 2026.

Tickets purchased for the 2025 shows will still be valid for the new dates, and refunds are available for those unable to attend.

The response from fans and fellow performers has been filled with love.

Brandi Carlile praised Dolly as “beyond reproach,” Jennifer Nettles encouraged her to prepare for “big adventures,” and Olivia Munn sent a wave of red heart emojis.

Fans echoed the sentiment with messages urging Dolly to “heal strong” and take the time she needs.

Dolly’s recent health journey

This isn’t the first time Dolly’s health has prompted schedule changes.

Earlier this year, she canceled an appearance at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, due to kidney stones and an infection.

In a video message, she explained, “Turns out there was an infection, and the doctor said: ‘You don’t need to be traveling around this minute… You need a few days to feel better.’”

She reassured fans she would return soon, adding, “Don’t worry about me, I’m going to be okay. Just can’t do it today.”

Dolly has dealt with kidney stones in the past, undergoing surgery in 2015, but she has always approached health setbacks with determination and positivity.

Navigating grief and resilience

Beyond health challenges, 2025 has been an emotional year for Dolly.

She lost her husband of 60 years, Carl Dean, earlier this year at age 82.

In a heartfelt conversation with Savannah Guthrie, Dolly shared, “We were together 60 years. I’ve loved him since I was 18 years old.”

The grief has been profound, but she has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans around the world.

“I’ve gotten so many cards, letters, flowers, from all over the world,” she said, joking that she had “no idea Carl Dean was so famous.”
