Domino’s unleashes exciting menu item to outdo Pizza Hut–Are you missing out?

The pizza wars have taken a delicious turn, and Domino's is rolling out the dough to bring a long-awaited twist to their menu.

After years of anticipation and a dash of friendly rivalry, Domino's has finally introduced a stuffed crust pizza option, sending waves of excitement through the ranks of pizza aficionados across the nation.

For three decades, pizza lovers have enjoyed the cheesy goodness of stuffed crust pizzas, thanks to Pizza Hut's pioneering move in the 1990s.

But Domino's, a brand known for its innovative delivery and mouth-watering pies, had yet to answer the call for a stuffed crust of their own. That is, until now.

Domino's has unveiled its Parmesan Stuffed Crust Pizza, a menu addition that's been “30 years in the making.”

The brand's journey to perfecting this crust was not without its challenges. Operational concerns and the need for an efficient process that wouldn't slow down their fast-paced service were at the forefront of their minds.

But the pizza chain knew it was time to “take another look” after witnessing the success of stuffed crusts in the market and the demand from their own customer base.

With nearly 13 million Domino's customers reportedly choosing competitors for their stuffed crust fix each year, the decision to innovate became clear.

To mark this momentous occasion, Domino's didn't just stop at adding the item to their menu—they launched “National Stuffed Crust Week.”

During this week, customers could indulge in a one-topping Parmesan Stuffed Crust Pizza for the tempting price of $9.99 through Domino's Carryout Deal.

But the festivities didn't end there. Domino's also kicked off a month-long contest, giving away a whopping $250,000 worth of free Parmesan Stuffed Crust Pizzas through their Cheat Receipts campaign.

Pizza enthusiasts could enter by uploading a photo of a receipt showing they ordered stuffed crust pizza from another restaurant before March 3. Weekly drawings would then determine the lucky winners of this cheesy jackpot.

The announcement sent social media into a frenzy, with Instagram users expressing their joy and disbelief at the news.

“I have been waiting for this day for decades,” exclaimed one fan, while another declared,
“This is the greatest day of my life. I love you, Domino's.”

The sentiment was echoed across the platform, with comments ranging from sheer excitement to playful envy of international friends who had already enjoyed the stuffed crust experience.

Not to be outdone, Pizza Hut, the originator of the stuffed crust, responded with a cheeky social media campaign of their own.

They offered a 30 percent discount on their Original Stuffed Crust Pizza using the code “NOTLIKEUS,” a nod to their status as the stuffed crust trailblazers.

Pizza Hut's Original Stuffed Crust Pizza has been a fan favorite for over 25 years, with the brand even teasing the idea of selling just the stuffed crust due to its popularity. Pizza Hut introduced its Original Stuffed Crust Pizza at its US locations in March 1995, quickly becoming a fan favorite.

Former chief marketing officer George Felix reflected on its impact in 2021, stating, “The Original Stuffed Crust pizza was a game changer 25 years ago, and while many have tried to imitate it, nothing compares to Pizza Hut’s original.”

He added, “Over the years, fans have even asked if they could order just the stuffed crust by itself because it’s that good.”

With over 40 variations of stuffed crust introduced in international markets, Pizza Hut has made it clear that they're not afraid to experiment with this beloved pizza style.
