Don't miss out! This long-awaited Taco Bell dessert is still HERE– and it's as mouthwatering as ever!

The whispers started on social media, a buzz of excitement that grew into a chorus of jubilation. Many fans of this beloved fast food chain have long awaited the return of this sweet legend.

This beloved classic, long removed from the menu, has made a grand re-entrance a few days ago. Have you gotten your hands on it already?

It's been half a decade since Taco Bell decided to retire what many considered the crown jewel of their dessert menu. This removal evoked so many negative feelings from Taco Bell regulars.

But amazing news for all the sweet tooths out there! The Caramel Apple Empanada, with its flaky, deep-fried pastry shell, brimming with tender diced apples and a rich caramel sauce, is more than just a dessert; it is a fond memory of meals past, a finisher that many couldn't forget.

Now, as part of Taco Bell's innovative Decades Menu, which resurrects discontinued favorites, the Caramel Apple Empanada has been given a new lease on life as of November 21.

The return of the Caramel Apple Empanada has sparked a flurry of activity, with customers flocking to Taco Bell to relive the taste that they've missed so dearly. While it’s not the same as it was before, many fans are glad to reveal that the empanadas still satisfy their cravings.

Social media platforms have become hotspots for rave reviews and shared memories, with comments like “We are so back. It's as good as I remember,” and “There isn't anything that's gotten me this excited in a long time. I've missed this item more than anything that's been taken from us.”

Last November 21 until November 24, Taco Bell orders made using Uber Eats also came with a free Caramel Apple Empanada if the order amounted to $20 or more.

The empanada can be ordered from Taco Bell or Taco Bell Cantina for as long as it's open, even during breakfast. You can also order in-store, through a kiosk, or drive-trhu.

If you want to order in advance, you can also place an order through the Taco Bell website and app. However, note that the empanada can only be ordered a la carte and it cannot be customized.

For those curious about its composition for health reasons, the pastry itself is made with enriched wheat flour, water, shortening (palm and soybean oil), canola oil, rice flour, dextrose, salt, sugar, baking soda, dough conditioner (sodium metabisulfite), soy lecithin.

Meanwhile, the caramel apple filling contains diced apples, brown sugar, water, modified food starch, regular milk, non-fat milk, whey, butter, and other natural flavors including butter, sugar, salt, cellulose gum, and citric acid.

So, those with allergies to gluten, wheat, milk, and soy should avoid having this sweet delicacy. To add, the empanada also fried in canola oil, it has around 280 calories, 13 grams of total fat, 260 milligrams of sodium, 14 grams of sugar, 3 grams of protein and 38 grams of total carbohydrates.

While the joy is widespread, there's a bittersweet note to this reunion.

The Caramel Apple Empanada's return is, alas, a fleeting one. Available for a limited time, this dessert is a comet in the fast-food cosmos—brilliant and beloved, but not here to stay.

So, don’t wait too long before visiting the nearest Taco Bell. Get yours now while it's still here. Priced at a suggested $2.99, though subject to variation, it's a small price for a bite of nostalgia.

The Caramel Apple Empanada isn't the only blast from the past to grace the Decades Menu. Other retired items have also made a comeback, including the Tostada, Green Sauce Burrito, Meximelt, and Gordita Supreme, each with their own dedicated fanbases and priced between $2.19 and $2.99.

And for those who remember the 90s with a particular fondness, the Chili Cheese Burrito has also made a regional return, featuring seasoned beef chili and melty cheddar wrapped in a warm tortilla.

So, if your heart yearns for the sweet embrace of the Caramel Apple Empanada, or if you're curious to taste the legends of Taco Bell's past, the time is now.
