Don't Trust Strangers
Three men were standing on top of the Empire State Building, enjoying the view.
Suddenly, to the shock of the second man, the first man jumps right off the edge! The second man gasps—only to see, moments later, the first man strolling back up without a scratch.
“How in the world did you do that?” the second man asks.
“Oh, it’s easy,” says the first man. “As I was falling, I bent my knees, and just before I hit the ground, I pushed hard with my legs and bounced right back up.”
The second man shakes his head. “I don’t believe you.”
“Here, watch again,” says the first man. And sure enough—he jumps, falls, springs back up, and lands right where he started.
“Well, I’ll be,” says the second man. “I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself.”
“Go ahead, give it a try!” the first man grins.
The second man steps to the edge, muttering the instructions. “Bend the knees… push back up… got it.” He takes a deep breath and jumps.
Down, down, down he goes—then SPLAT on the sidewalk below.
The third man, who’s been watching all this quietly, shakes his head and says to the first man:
“You know… you can be a real rascal sometimes, Superman.”
