Ingredients:
- 1 pound bacon, cut into small pieces
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 (16-ounce) package egg noodles
- 1 head cabbage, sliced
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
- Cook the Bacon & Onion:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon pieces until crisp, about 10 minutes. Stir in the diced onion and continue cooking until the onion is translucent, about 5 more minutes. Remove the bacon and onion from the skillet, leaving the flavorful drippings behind. - Prepare the Noodles:
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 5 minutes, until tender but still firm. Drain and set aside. - Sauté the Cabbage:
In the same pot used for the noodles, transfer the bacon, onion, and reserved drippings. Add the sliced cabbage and stir to coat in the bacon drippings. Cover and cook over medium heat for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender. - Combine & Serve:
Gently stir in the cooked noodles, ensuring everything is well mixed. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve warm and enjoy!
