Fast food giant rolls out unexpected deal to mark big anniversary

One iconic fast food chain is going all-out to celebrate a milestone.
Customers across the country will be able to enjoy something rarely offered—and at a price that feels straight out of the past.
As part of the celebration, both online and in-person perks will be available, with even more surprises set to roll out in the coming days.
The opportunity is limited, though—so you'll want to act fast.
Whataburger is marking its 75th anniversary with a one-day deal: 75-cent hamburgers.
The offer will be available on August 8 from 11 AM to 8 PM local time.
To claim it, customers need to use the app and have a Whataburger Rewards account.
Each account is limited to one discounted burger. The promotion applies to the classic #1 hamburger only.
“This anniversary is our way of saying thank you,” said Whataburger President and CEO Debbie Stroud in a July 24 press release.
“Thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and for letting us be part of your table.”
The company, which has grown from its Texas roots to now operate in 17 states with over 1,100 restaurants, is also launching more commemorative merchandise.

Fans can pick up the second edition of the limited-edition Whataburger Commemorative Cups beginning August 5.
The celebration doesn’t stop there. The chain’s hometown will host a community event to mark the big milestone.
The company said it will celebrate in Corpus Christi, where it all began.
The August 8 celebration will take place at Whataburger Field, home of the Corpus Christi Hooks—the Houston Astros' AA affiliate.
To honor the occasion, the Hooks will take the field as the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits.
Every fan who attends the game will receive a coupon for the fan-favorite menu item.
Early attendees can also score exclusive merch, including a Whataguy mask or cape.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we’re not just marking time—we’re honoring the memories, the traditions, and the quality experiences that keep folks coming back,” Stroud added.
