For one actor who captured hearts early in life, his legacy continues to shine brightly through the lives he touched, both on-screen and off.


Floyd Roger Myers Jr., best known for playing a young Will Smith on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died at the age of 42.

His mother, Renee Trice, told TMZ that Myers passed away early Wednesday, October 29, after suffering a heart attack at his Maryland home.


She also shared that he had endured three previous heart attacks over the past three years. Myers’ passing marks a heartbreaking loss for those who knew him personally and for fans who remember his early roles from the 1990s.

During his childhood career, Myers portrayed young versions of some of entertainment’s biggest names.

In 1992, he played a young Will Smith in the “Will Gets Committed” episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and that same year portrayed young Marlon Jackson in the hit miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream.

The series chronicled the rise of the Jackson 5 and the challenges the musical family faced behind the scenes. His final credited acting role came in 2000 in the television series Young Americans.



In later years, Myers transitioned away from acting and focused on building a life rooted in service and community.

He owned a duct cleaning business in Maryland and co-founded The Fellaship Men’s Group, an organization that promotes men’s mental health, self-improvement, and honest conversations.

On the group’s Instagram page, his peers shared a moving tribute: “RIP to our good brother @rocwonder one of our co founders. Gone but never will be forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor.”

The group promised to carry on his work, with their next meeting dedicated to celebrating his life. Myers’ social media reflected the pride and joy he found in fatherhood.

Just weeks before his passing, he shared a video celebrating his daughter’s 10th birthday, writing, “Happy 10th birthday to my baby girl!! The life of the party and always a bright light in the room!! I’m so happy to be your father can’t wait what the next 10yrs.”

His words captured a father’s love and the deep joy that came from watching his child grow. Even as his career evolved, family and purpose remained at the heart of who he was.
