Did you know it took the editors of the Oxford English Dictionary decades to publish its first edition? Spanning 12 volumes with 15,487 pages, it documented a staggering 414,825 words.

This monumental effort began in the 19th century and demanded painstaking attention to detail. In fact, the editors spent five years just to get to the word “ant”, and nearly 50 years to finish the entire project. Amazing, isn’t it?
