Welcome to today’s General Discussion Thread! I came across this quote from Plato the other day: “Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.” And it got me thinking: What makes your heart sing? Share what your version of love in the comments below! It could be a favorite movie, song, food, or a memory you hold dear to your heart.
I'll start! I spent a lot of time in the library as a kid, where the school's principal also liked to spend her downtime when she wasn't doing much work. Over time, she and I had developed a bond, and our routine went like this: I'd arrive at the library, plop to our special table, read the book she'd picked out for me, and then we'd discuss it afterwards. As days went on, I branched out to write short stories of my own because I was inspired by the adventure books she kept giving me. One day, she complimented my work and said: "If you can find it in your heart to keep going, you'll be a great writer in the future." I don't know if I'd consider myself a great writer yet, but she was the first person to ever believe in my dreams. So, whenever I feel disheartened, I try to remember her kind words.
