General Discussion Thread 02.08.2025
Hello, dear GrayViners!
I'm incredibly grateful that I have fully recovered from my little midweek slump—and I hope you catch some of the giddy, upbeat energy I’m feeling this morning.
We decoded the word "ick" in our “What Would The Grandkids Say?” segment in today's newsletter. The younger generations use it to describe something that instantly turns them off or gives them a sense of secondhand embarrassment, discomfort, or disgust—often in a playful or exaggerated way. I'm curious… What’s an old-school ick that still gets you? Maybe it’s someone chewing gum loudly, cutting in line, or—gasp—talking during a movie!
I'm excited to read your answers—let’s keep it light and friendly!
If you have something else in mind, perhaps a book or movie recomendation, an interesting fact, or even something that’s bothering you—share it in the comments as well! Need advice? Just ask. This space was created just for you!
