Hey GrayViners!

Some things just can’t be upgraded—no matter what anyone says.

Alright, it’s time for a little fun: What’s one household item you absolutely refuse to replace, no matter how old or weird it looks?

We’re talking about that wobbly chair that’s “just right”, the mug with the chipped rim that somehow makes coffee taste better, or maybe the mystery spatula that’s survived three kitchen remodels.

I’ll go first—mine’s a pillow that’s definitely older than some appliances in my house. It’s flat, it’s lumpy, but it’s my pillow, and I will fight anyone who tries to toss it.

Now it’s your turn! Tell us what you're holding onto and why—and don’t be shy, the stranger the better.

Cheers!
Blue 💙

I actually have 2 , both passed to me from my mother ,one is a rolling pin solid piece of wood ,appears to have been carved ,the other a small metal flour sifter.

I have what today would be considered a “stick vac” in a lovely shade of avocado green. I married early and we immediately moved out of state. My Mom made the trek to visit us and brought the vacuum along. Still works great and is still avocado green, after 56 years!

My Mom's rolling pin even has dough imbedded in handle. And a quilt that my Great Aunt made and is over a 100 yrs old. Sorta tattered but will never part with it. Took white plain blocks Sunday School kids signed their names, she embrodried them and then sewed them with color full print of what ever she could find.

My maternal grandmother’s pressure cooker. It is about 95 years old and I still use it. I had to replace the gasket a couple of times but still works great.

My mother's cookie jar. My mother received it on her wedding day. It's over 109 years old. It's The Cow Jumped over the Moon. It's like brand new. It's yellow

My lamb cookie jar. My mom got it from her mom and it’s been mine since Sep 1972! Yes, it’s been mine for exactly 52 years and 7 months and keeps my cookies fresh! I don’t know what the original color was but now it’s all white. My mom said that when she was growing up it had a black nose and a reddish nose. I won’t ever get rid of Lammy! 🐑
