How are you, GrayViners? It’s a brand-new month! Is there something you’re looking forward to this September—maybe the arrival of fall? 🍂🍁

Today is Labor Day—a holiday that might feel a little different once you’ve retired. You may have hung up your hats, but since this day is all about honoring careers and contributions, I'd love to know: What’s one memory from your working years that you still love to reminisce about? Maybe it’s the friendships you made, or a proud accomplishment you’ll never forget. Share your story with us in the comments—we’d love to hear it!

How I was a head teller and caught another teller stealing money.
A funny moment was when the armed guards came for currency exchange. After they left I was having a fast cup of coffee with a cigarette (since quite smoking) and guard knocked on door. I saw who it was and opened door to be confronted with gun. Well I screamed. What happened was he left crimping tool behind that seals the bags shut. When I got back to taking care of customers (bank was packed with people from the chocolate factory came by bus to cash their checks ) everyone was asking what happened.

A couple of things come to mind. Serving the Air Force in North Dakota had certain perks. If the squadron Commander approved it myself and others were flown on a B52 to Orlando Florida and Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. They were called Insentive Flights as a reward for going above and beyond while serving in an area that wasn’t exactly a choice destination. On the flight to Florida my husband also went too because he was chosen by his commander. The experience was all kinds of wonderful!
The second flight was on a Huey helicopter. Now THAT was an amazing experience! 🫡 🇺🇸 ☮️
