Hey GrayViners!

There’s something so heartwarming about hearing how love stories began. Every era has its own special way of bringing people together—from the music on the radio to the way folks dressed up for a night out.

Maybe for you it was a shy smile across a church social, or the thrill of catching someone’s eye at the local diner. Perhaps it was a carefully written letter that took days to arrive, or a slow dance to a song you can still hum by heart. Each memory is a little time capsule of the world as it was back then.

So, I’d love for you to share: What was dating like back during your time?

Maybe you were twirling under the stars at a ’60s sock hop, cruising the boulevard in the ’70s, or meeting at a town picnic where everyone knew each other’s names. What made dating special in your time? Was there a favorite spot for ice cream after the movies, or a song that still brings you right back to that first date?

Add your story below and tell us how you found romance in your day. Your memories—whether sweet, funny, or a little awkward—will not only bring back warm moments for you, but also give the rest of us a glimpse into the timeless art of falling in love.

I can’t wait to read your stories and see how courtship has changed (and stayed beautifully the same) through the decades.

Cheers!

I always had a boyfriend, few girlfriends. I'm still trying to find my first love to see if he is still alive but haven't been able to thus far. I even sent a self-addressed letter and envelope when I thought I'd found him years ago but got no reponse. Boy, I bet whomever got it was thinking that I was weird.
