Hey, GrayViners!

After a good meal, everyone’s got their own way of tackling the dishes—some find it oddly relaxing, others just want it over with. 🍽️

So here’s a fun one for today: Would you rather wash dishes by hand or use the dishwasher?

Do you like the warm suds, the rhythm of scrubbing, and a little elbow grease—or are you all about hitting Start and walking away? 🫧

I’m curious which camp wins out in this crowd—Team Hand Wash or Team Dishwasher? Share your thoughts (and maybe your secret dishwashing tricks) below!

Cheers,
Sophia

Living alone I would just as soon hand wash. If you have to clean table, stove and counter you might as well do the dishes also.

I live alone and my habit is clean up as I cook especially since it would take a week of dishes to fill the dishwasher.

My two sisters and I live together, we run hot, soapy water in the sink, as we use dishes, we put them in the water. After we eat, hand washing is a breeze! I like washing dishes!
When we have a family dinner, (we have a big family), the dishwasher gets a good workout!

When my family was all here, I washed after every meal. I always wanted a dish washer, back then, now I have one and never hardly use it. for one person?? its not worth it as, I dom't have many dishes, and I do them by hand.

For most of my life, (I am 88) I have rented and seldom had a place that had a dishwasher. I got use to hand washing and have continued such for most of my life.

I hate doing dishes by hand. It's just me and my husband and I don't cook that often so the dishwasher gets filled up and run once a week.

My husband & I are empty nesters, so doing the dishes by hand is no problem.
Since I cook the meal & set the table, my husband helps out by doing the dishes every night.
We only use the dishwasher when we have company and make a bigger meal.

Now that I have a dishwasher, I choose to use it. The reason is, I am sure the scalding hot water coming through the pipes is more sizzling than I could put my hands in, even with gloves on. Plus, I put my toothbrush in the dishwasher to kill any germs that might have walked into my home.

Living alone and not that many dishes, I do them by hand. I was the only one who did dishes at home. I did the dishes, my brother took out the trash. Oh the memories!

Well, we don't have a dishwasher, and even when we did, I still washed everything by hand. It's just my husband and I, but even when the kids were little and still living at home, we still all washed the dishes by hand. I actually don't mind it.

It's just me here and I have just a few dishes every day. I have a dishwasher, but never use it.
I tend to rinse with hot water after use and make a small stack beside the sink. I hand wash about every third day, and my drain rack resembles a Jenga puzzle!!
