Healthy Chocolate Cake

This moist, tender chocolate cake proves you don’t need butter, sugar, or eggs to enjoy a rich dessert. Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 cup sugar-free granulated sweetener of choice
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup water

Directions:

  1. Prep the pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk flour, sweetener, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Stir in vanilla extract, vinegar, and applesauce. Pour in water and mix until fully combined.
  4. Bake: Transfer batter to the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a skewer comes out just clean.
  5. Cool & serve: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Frost if desired, or enjoy plain.
