Hokkien Noodles

This authentic street food classic features thick, chewy noodles in a rich, savory sauce that's bursting with umami flavor!

Ingredients:
  • 400g (14oz) egg noodles
  • 200g (7oz) pork belly, thinly sliced
  • 200g (7oz) raw shrimp, peeled
  • 2 cups bean sprouts
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sambal chili paste (optional)
Directions:
  1. Blanch noodles in boiling water for 30 seconds. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in wok over high heat. Cook pork until lightly browned (2 minutes).
  3. Add shrimp and garlic; stir-fry for 1 minute until shrimp turns pink.
  4. Toss in vegetables and stir-fry for 1 more minute.
  5. Add noodles, sauces, sugar and stock. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until sauce reduces.
  6. Finish with green onions and serve with sambal for extra heat.
