Huge blowout sales begin–Here’s how you can score big before these 500 stores vanish forever!

For generations, Joann has been a beloved haven for crafters, quilters, and DIY enthusiasts. Its aisles of colorful fabrics, glittering notions, and endless crafting supplies have sparked creativity and brought countless projects to life.

But now, change is unfolding, leaving many loyal customers wondering what the future holds for their go-to crafting destination.

Here's what you need to know to navigate the sales and honor the legacy of a crafting giant.

The news of Joann's widespread closures comes on the heels of a second bankruptcy filing in less than a year, signaling a significant shift in the retail landscape. After 82 years of being known for their fabrics and crafts, 500 out of it 850 locations are now saying goodbye.

As the company embarks on a restructuring plan approved by the court, it's not just the end of an era—it's the beginning of a massive going-out-of-business sale that promises deep discounts and incredible deals for shoppers that “could continue for several months.”

"The remainder of our stores are not impacted by this motion, and will remain open as usual, as will joann.com,” the company expressed in a statement.

According to the company, the sales kicked off on Saturday, February 15, transforming the affected Joann locations into bargain hubs. These sales are expected to span several months, offering a prolonged opportunity for customers to stock up on supplies.

“Only inventory available on-site at those stores will be part of the closing sales,” said Joann, so it's wise to act fast and visit early for the best selection.

While specific discount details are not widely advertised online, reports from various locations have surfaced.

Shoppers have encountered initial markdowns ranging from 10 to 20% off, with seasonal items such as Christmas decorations boasting discounts of up to 75%. These discounts are expected to increase as the sales progress, so keep an eye out for escalating savings.

In the midst of restructuring, Joann has made some changes to its usual policies. Currently, the company is not accepting gift cards, and traditional discounts for Girl Scouts, teachers, military, and healthcare workers are on pause.

Additionally, returns are not being accepted at the stores slated for closure. It's a good idea to double-check the policies at your local store to avoid any surprises.

The full list of closing Joann stores has not been made public, but shoppers can contact their local stores or check the company's restructuring website for updates.

As the sales unfold, it's a chance to say goodbye to a familiar favorite and perhaps discover some incredible deals in the process.

This has got to be just bad management and toooo top heavy! When it come to fabric , they have NO competition!
It’s definitely concerning to see a company with such a strong niche struggle like this, @Glee! Having little competition in the fabric space should have been an advantage, but it seems like broader retail challenges played a major role in their decline. Let's hope that the remaining stores can find a way to adapt and stay afloat. 🙏
