Ingredients:
- 1 whole pound cake (store-bought, frozen)
- 1 gallon ice cream, your favorite flavor
- 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreo's
- 1 package gummy worms
- Cut the frozen pound cake into 1- to 1 1/2-inch slices, then use a biscuit or cookie cutter that fits the flower pot’s bottom to cut the slices into rounds. (Save any leftover scraps in a zip-top bag for later use.)
- Place a round of cake into each clean, dry flower pot, pressing it down gently. Trim a straw to be 1/2 to 1 inch shorter than the pot’s rim, then use it as a guide to cut the remaining straws. Insert each straw into the center of the pot, anchoring it in the cake.
- Choose your favorite ice cream and either let it soften at room temperature or microwave it for about 20 seconds. Spoon the softened ice cream into the pots, working it around the straw, until it's nearly level with the top of the straw. Clean the pot edges with a damp paper towel, then freeze the pots until the ice cream is firm.
- Crush the cookies in a food processor or zip-top bag until they resemble dirt. Once the pots are frozen, place a few gummy worms on the ice cream, then generously sprinkle the crushed cookies over the top as "dirt." Finish by placing a fresh flower into the straw and serving right away.
