The reason? A potential laceration hazard due to damaged glass bottles.

The recall was initiated after the supplier, Gerolsteiner, which is based in Germany, alerted Trader Joe's to the possibility that certain lot codes of the glass bottles might be cracked or otherwise compromised.

This defect could lead to the bottles breaking unexpectedly, posing a risk of cuts or lacerations.

Trader Joe's has stated that the issue was discovered through research into bottle breakage during the production process.

It's estimated that approximately 1 percent of bottles from the affected lot codes may be at risk.
