Is your pantry unsafe? Check out this popular recalled item from Costco!

Attention, shoppers! Have you already accomplished your groceries?

Well, it's time to take a pause and check your pantry, as Costco, the beloved wholesale giant, has issued a recall on another popular item that may be lurking in your kitchen right now.

The safety of our food is paramount, and when a recall is announced, it's crucial to take immediate action to protect our health and that of our loved ones—especially for those in the senior community who may be more vulnerable to foodborne illnesses.

Costco's recent recall involves a staple item that are likely part of your regular shopping list–the SunFed-brand whole cucumbers. The reason? A potential contamination with Salmonella bacteria, a common and sometimes dangerous culprit behind foodborne illness.

Salmonella infections can lead to a range of unpleasant symptoms, including stomach cramps, watery diarrhea, headaches, nausea, and vomiting.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that while anyone can fall prey to Salmonella, certain groups are at a higher risk of serious illness. This includes individuals with weakened immune systems, young children, international travelers, and adults aged 65 and older—our GrayVine community.

The recall for the SunFed cucumbers affects six-count packs of whole cucumbers sold in select Costco business centers between Nov. 12 and Nov. 27.

This recall is part of a larger action by SunFed due to potential contamination concerns that extend across several states and Canadian provinces.

If you have any of the recalled items, stop consumption immediately. Reach out to SunFed's recall hotline. It's also important to spread the word—if you've shared these products with friends or family, let them know about the recall.

Those with additional questions can contact SunFed's recall hotline at (888) 542-5849.

Costco's recalls are not isolated incidents. Fresh Gourmet's Santa Fe Style Tortilla Strips are currently being pulled from shelves due to an undeclared wheat allergen, which is a serious concern for those with wheat allergies or celiac disease.

Additionally, Yu Shang Food has recalled over 72,000 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products because of potential Listeria contamination, another bacteria that can cause significant health issues.
