Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are coming to streaming—here’s what that means for longtime fans

For decades, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have been part of the evening routine in countless American households.

Whether you watched with a cup of coffee after dinner or called out answers from your favorite chair, these game shows brought a familiar rhythm and a sense of fun to the end of the day.

Now, they’re entering a new era—and you won’t need a cable subscription to keep playing along.

Starting this September, both shows will be available to stream on Hulu, Peacock, and Hulu on Disney+, giving fans old and new a chance to enjoy episodes whenever they like.

No more racing to the TV or setting a DVR—just simple, on-demand access.

A long time coming

Fans have waited years to see these classics join the streaming world.

The delay? A complicated web of legal disagreements between Sony Pictures Television (which produces the shows) and CBS (which distributes them).

In 2024, Sony even filed a lawsuit over international revenue issues, and CBS hit back with a countersuit.

While Sony briefly won the right to take over distribution, a later appeal kept CBS in place—for now.

Despite the courtroom drama, Sony was able to seal a new multi-year deal to bring Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune to streaming platforms.

The new arrangement will begin with the 42nd season of Jeopardy! and the 43rd season of Wheel of Fortune, and it will also include select fan-favorite episodes from the past.

So whether you want to catch up on the latest game or relive that unforgettable puzzle solve, you’ll have the option.

What this means for you

This is big news for anyone who grew up with these shows—or still makes them part of their daily routine.

Now, you can watch on your schedule, whether that means enjoying an episode with your morning coffee or playing along with your grandkids in the afternoon.

And if you’ve cut the cord on cable, this is a perfect way to reconnect with two of TV’s most enduring programs.

Sony’s Keith Le Goy called the move “an exciting opportunity to make these iconic shows more accessible to everyone, wherever they choose to watch.”

It’s also a sign that these shows, while timeless, are still evolving to reach new generations.

Part of a bigger shift

More and more beloved shows are making the move to streaming.

Even programs like WWE’s Monday Night RAW are switching platforms, showing that the traditional TV model is being replaced with something more flexible.

For longtime viewers, this shift can feel a little unfamiliar—but it also brings freedom: no more missing out because you weren’t home in time.

And don’t worry—just because Jeopardy! and Wheel are going digital doesn’t mean they’re changing what we love about them.

The clues, the puzzles, and the iconic hosts will still be there.

You’ll just have more ways to enjoy them.

Getting started is easier than you think

If you’re new to streaming, setting it up might feel like a hurdle—but it’s really quite simple.

Services like Hulu, Peacock, and Disney+ have apps that work on most smart TVs, tablets, and even smartphones.

You can sign up online, download the app, and start watching within minutes.

And if you need a hand, a tech-savvy grandchild, neighbor, or even your local library may be happy to help.

Once you're set up, you can watch new episodes the day after they air—or dive into older favorites any time.

Whether you want to challenge yourself with Final Jeopardy or cheer someone on as they spin the wheel, it’s all at your fingertips.

A look back—and forward

Few shows have stood the test of time like Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.

From friendly trivia battles to unforgettable puzzle solves, they’ve brought generations together.

And now, as they embrace the streaming age, they’ll continue to be part of our evenings—but with a modern twist.
