Joe's Expensive Funeral

When Joe passed away, his will left $30,000 for an elaborate funeral.

After the last guest had gone, his wife Helen turned to her best friend and said, “Well, I think Joe would have been pleased.”

“I’m sure you’re right,” her friend Jody replied softly, then leaned in and asked, “But tell me honestly—how much did it really cost?”

“All of it,” Helen said. “Thirty thousand.”

Jody’s eyes widened. “No! It was beautiful, but $30,000?!”

Helen calmly explained, “The funeral was $6,500. I gave $500 to the church. The food and drinks for the wake were another $500. The rest went for the memorial stone.”

Jody quickly did the math. “Wait—$22,500 for a memorial stone?! My goodness, how big is it?”

Helen held up her hand and smiled. “Two and a half carats.” :ROFLMAO:
